Seamless Pattern Licence: What You Can Make and Sell
The small business commercial licence that comes with our seamless patterns lets you make and sell physical products, up to 500 units per pattern, but not share or resell the files. This page is a plain-English summary; the licence PDF in each download is the binding version.
You may
- Use the patterns in personal projects, with no limit.
- Print the patterns on physical products and sell them, up to 500 units per pattern. For example: baby clothes, blankets, swaddles, bibs, bags, cushions, wallpaper, gift wrap, cards, stickers and stationery.
- Have a printing service print fabric or paper with the patterns for your own products, such as Spoonflower printing fabric for your own use.
- Use the patterns in social media posts and marketing for products you've made with them.
- Recolour, resize or crop the patterns for your products.
You may not
- Resell, share, give away or distribute the digital files, changed or unchanged, including as digital paper, clip art, templates or pattern packs.
- Upload the patterns to print-on-demand marketplaces or shops where other people can order them, such as Redbubble, Society6 or Zazzle, or sell them as Spoonflower fabric.
- Sell the patterns as fabric by the metre or yard.
- Claim the patterns as your own designs, or register them as a trademark or design.
- Use the patterns in logos, or in any hateful, illegal or misleading content.
Good to know
- Over 500 units, or unlimited use: message us through Etsy about an extended licence.
- More than one user: the licence is for one person or one small business. Each additional business or user needs its own purchase.
- Credit: appreciated, but not required.
- Downloading the files means you agree to the licence terms. We keep ownership of the patterns, and any rights the licence doesn't list stay with us.
- The patterns are digital files only. No physical item is shipped.
- Colours can look different on screen, fabric and paper, so we recommend printing a test sample first.
- Because these are digital files, we can't offer refunds once they've been downloaded. If a file doesn't work, message us and we'll help.
- The licence can't be transferred. If you break its terms, your licence ends and you must stop using the patterns.
- The licence is governed by the laws of South Africa, and it covers only the pattern files bought in that listing.

Licence questions
Can I sell things I make with the patterns in my Etsy shop?
Yes. You can print the patterns on physical products and sell them, up to 500 units per pattern, so things you make, such as baby clothes, cushions, gift wrap or cards, can go in your Etsy shop. You can't sell the digital files themselves, for example as digital paper, clip art or pattern packs.
Can I upload the patterns to Redbubble, Society6 or Zazzle?
No. The licence doesn't allow uploading the patterns to print-on-demand marketplaces or shops where other people order products, including Redbubble, Society6 and Zazzle. You can still have fabric or paper printed for your own products and sell what you make, up to 500 units per pattern.
Can I have Spoonflower print fabric for my own sewing?
Yes. You can have Spoonflower or another printing service print fabric or paper with the patterns for your own use and your own products. You can't offer the patterns as Spoonflower fabric for other people to order, and you can't sell them as fabric by the metre or yard.
Can I recolour the patterns?
Yes. You can recolour, resize or crop the patterns for your products. You still can't share, sell, give away or distribute the files once you've changed them.
What if I need more than 500 units?
Message us through Etsy about an extended licence. The same goes if you want unlimited use.
Do I need to credit Wild Little Designs?
No. Credit is appreciated, but the licence doesn't require it.
Can I get a refund?
Because the patterns are digital files, we can't offer refunds once they've been downloaded. If a file doesn't work, message us and we'll help.
